What is CardinalTV?

CardinalTV is more than just the name of our school district's cable channel.  It is the district level program that ties together various district resources to provide video content to the school communities.  CardinalTV takes this content and makes it available to the community in several different ways.  One is our district cable channel 22 that can be seen by over 3700 households in Sheffield Lake and Sheffield Village that subscribe to Time-Warner Cable.  Another way of viewing CardinalTV content is by visiting our district website at www.sheffieldschools.org.  Here we will post links to various programming throughout the year.  The third and newest way to view CardinalTV content is right here on the CardinalTV website.  Our webcasts section contains links to our latest content that you can watch from anywhere in the world.  We are still working on populating our site and creating a digital library for you to enjoy but we believe that when the site is complete it will be the most complete school event video library in the State.  Enjoy!

Where Does the Content on CardinalTV Come From?

CardinalTV is designed to accept video in various formats from sources throughout our school district and community.  Student projects, staff created video, podcasts, and community submitted video will all be considered for inclusion on CardinalTV.  Most of the programming for CardinalTV comes from our very successful school club known as the District Video Club (DVC).  The DVC is responsible for covering select school events such as athletic events, concerts, programs and academic awards and will soon be producing news shows.  The DVC was created in 2007 and is made up of High School and Middle School students.
If you are a student, staff member, or community member interested in submitting content to CardinalTV please contact Mr. Doug Cogdell at the Administration Building by phone at (440)949-4214 or via
email.

History 101

The Sheffield-Sheffield Lake City School District has had a cable channel for nearly 15 years.  Over the years it has changed from cablevision, to Adelphia, to Time-Warner Cable.  Residents in Sheffield Lake and Sheffield Village that subscribe to TWC Cable can tune to Channel 22 and view CardinalTV.  Other residents, or anyone with internet access, can visit our website for on-demand viewing of CTV content.  Our current cable television distribution system consists of an informational channel known as CastNet and a video server called Nexus.  Our goal is to be able to provide different ways for community members to see the wonderful things happening in our school district and showcase the great work of our students and staff.
